Accessibility of the website

Last updated: 26.6.2025

United Fiber d.o.o. (hereinafter: United Fiber) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. Unitef Fiber strives to make its website accessible and user-friendly in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act, hereinafter: EAA) and the harmonized European standard EN 301 549, which is aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA. Digital accessibility is not just a goal we want to achieve, but an ongoing commitment that we implement in every aspect of the provision of digital services. We are aware that this requires continuous monitoring, improvement and adaptation. Below is an overview of the activities undertaken to ensure digital accessibility for all.

How we support accessibility

A key element of our accessibility initiative is to ensure that our website complies with applicable standards. To achieve this, we use standard accessibility methods and tools, in accordance with the relevant version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) adopted by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the main international organization for setting Internet standards. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving and addressing accessibility challenges, we have taken the following actions:

  • We have integrated accessibility requirements, as an integral part, into our internal policies and digital strategies.
  • We have performed automated scans, manual audits and website testing using recognized methodologies and tools.
  • Modifications and/or refinements have been made based on the deficiencies identified to ensure compliance with EN 301 549.
  • We’ve built in an accessibility widget that provides users with tools to customize the experience (e.g., contrast, text size, screen reader optimization, keyboard navigation). Users can choose the combinations that suit them best.
  • We have built accessibility into our service processes.
  • We continuously educate the relevant departments in order to adopt the best accessibility practices.
  • We have enabled Automated Remediation Technology (ART) for all visitors. ART does not recognize the use of assistive technology, but improves accessibility for all users of the website, regardless of their abilities, by applying automatic customization functionality.

Continuous improvement

We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website, believing that it is our common moral obligation to provide simple, accessible and unhindered use of the Internet for people with disabilities. In a constant effort to continuously improve and address accessibility challenges, we conduct regular page scans https://unitedfiber.hr/ using accessibility tools and manual auditors to identify and reconcile any possible accessibility barriers. Despite our efforts and improvements to make all websites and content fully accessible, we are aware that certain areas may require additional and continuous improvements. Our commitment is ongoing and we will continue to improve the website to better meet the needs of all users.

Limitations and areas under audit

Despite our efforts, certain segments of the website may not be fully accessible for the following reasons:

  • Certain downloadable documents (PDFs, Word) may not be fully optimized for screen readers
  • Older videos may not contain accurate captions, audio descriptions, or transcripts
  • Third-party integrations may have accessibility restrictions beyond our control

We are actively working to address these challenges and are addressing them as part of our long-term commitment plan to accessibility requirements.
